Kids Night Out ~ Round Up

In April our theme will be "HE LIVES" celebrating Easter!
May will be a Kids and Moms Day.

This month Kid Night Out was a celebration of St. Patty's Day. We wore green, drank green, and ate green!
There were 22 kids in attendance.

We started out with face painting shamrocks on all, including the supervisors who happen to be
Childrens Worship teachers. Face Painting

After selecting the GREEN TEAM and the GOLD TEAM, we moved on to playing the games.
We chose both Irish and Highland games to play as teams.
1st game: The Shamrock Scavenger Hunt and 2nd game: Relay to fill the Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow.

Break time--switch to craft and story. The Shamrock illustrated the Holy Trinity which was explained in the poem.
We talked about each icon that was used and ended with the dove landing on Jesus' shoulder after He was baptized
by John the Baptist. Each of the kids recited the poem, by their choice.
We were amazed that even that Sunday the Kindgergarten~1st grade class still remembered that poem!

We finished with Highland games which were altered a bit to accommodate the kids and being indoors.
1st was the heavy sand bag carry and toss. Then we had the traditional Caber Toss.
Both small sand bag and caber had to be tossed OVER a cross beam.
