Married Gael O’Connell, an OHHS classmate, in June of 1969. We have one son, Greg, born in March of 1971. Gael and I recently celebrated our 48th anniversary.
Taught primarily Biology at Washington High School, Parkland, for 30 years (1969-1999).
Retired in 1999 from Public Schools, then taught Biology and Bible for two years at Cascade Christian HS, then taught Biology and Bible for two years Tacoma Baptist HS. Then taught Biology for 2 years at Orting HS.
Raised in a Christian home and Church, I cannot remember ever being an unbeliever. But my faith and relationship with the Lord really blossomed when, at about 25, I decided it was time to read through the Bible from cover to cover. I was amazed at how everything fit together, and at how relevant the Word was to my life and to the times we are living in. I began a lifetime of Bible study and, eventually, Bible teaching.
I have often taught Adult Sunday School, led Church Home Care Groups, and have been asked to speak at many Churches throughout the Northwest (usually on the subjects of Creation and Bible Prophecy). I have been asked to teach/preach sermons at several Churches and to be the officiant at several funerals of close friends. I am currently leading the Church Services at Brookdale Senior Living, an Alzheimer’s -Memory Care facility located in South Hill of Puyallup.
I am most grateful to my Lord Jesus Christ for the grace and salvation He extended to me. I want to live a life pleasing to Him. I want to live up to my high calling.
